Minimize Headaches, Backaches, Shoulder Pain and Discomfort
Fitting the proper bra is easy but it can also be a little intimidating. A proper fitting bra can be a woman's best friend. A bra that fits the way it should will change your day and I even dare say your life all together.
When you wear a proper fitting bra it will contain your whole breast. There are some exceptions to this rule. A Push-up bra is made so that the breast is lifted and placed closer together enhancing your cleavage. A Demi Cup bra has lower cups therefore only covering half of the breast enabling you to wear lower cut tops. Your breast should not spill over the top of the cups. If this happens then you need to increase your cup size. A smooth cup is also a sign of a good fitting bra. If your cups have any gaps, folds, creases or crinkles then your cups are too big therefore you must go down a cup size.
A well fitting band should be snug all around but not so tight that it bothers you. If you feel uncomfortable with your band due to it digging or creating dents in your skin then you need a bigger band size. Another sign of wearing the wrong band size is a band that rides up your back. If your band is riding up your back then you need to go down in band size.
The center gore of your bra is the place between your cups. This should lay or almost lay flat against your breast bone. If the center gore of your bra doesn't lay flat this may indicate that the cups you are wearing are too small or that the style doesn't compliment your body type.
It is very important to know that most or all your support comes from your band and not your straps. Your straps compliment your band. Your straps should NEVER pressure or cut into your shoulders. If this is the case then you have adjusted your straps too tight. Women think that by making the straps tighter it will add support or prevent slippage. This is not the case. Unfortunately some women have shoulders that slump causing the straps to constantly slip off the shoulders. A good way to prevent the straps from slipping is to wear a bra that doesn't have straps that are set too far apart such as Fantasie 0993 or 4500. Another good alternative would be to use a strap connector like the Strap-Mate by Fashion Forms.....
