Teen Guide - When Should I Get a Bra?

It's usually a good time to get a bra when your breasts have "budded," or begun to bump out a bit under the nipple. A training bra, a bralette or a sports bra are all good options at this early stage of breast development. They can provide some support and some modesty while your breasts are developing.

As breasts grow, they may be pointy for a while before becoming rounder and fuller, at which point they could use a little more support from a bra with cups. Cupped bras with underwires give extra support to larger chests and help to keep your breasts in place. As breasts develop, they'll need support especially when participating in athletics or high-movement activities.
