The first thing to know about full figure bras is who falls into this category and who doesn't. You may be surprised to learn that full figure bras can be both appropriate for plus size women and women with closer to average band sizes. But you may also be surprised to find bras in the full figure bra category in band sizes 34, 36 and so on. This is because a full figure bra has as much to do with breast tissue as it does with body type. Although larger body types are appropriate for full figure bras, a woman with a 34 or 36 band size may also benefit from a full figure bra.
A woman who wears a 34D or 36C may get more comfort and better containment from a full figure bra - it all just depends on the location of her breast tissue. Average figure bras tend to have shallower cups than full figure bras, and women with more breast tissue, regardless of if they wear a D, F, G or K cup, will appreciate the larger cup capacity and added coverage of full figure bras. If you are spilling out of your cup, you should look into both full figure bras and fuller bust bras.
